Connecting an AI assistant
How to let an assistant such as Claude, Gemini or ChatGPT read your Breathing Room data.
What can an assistant do with my data?
Once connected, an assistant such as Claude, Gemini or ChatGPT can read your nights, sessions, events, waveforms, sleep stages, oximeter recordings and journal, and can add notes, tags and a feeling score to your journal (it replaces a score you already set only when you tell it to). It cannot create share links, upload, delete or change anything else. Its analysis is AI-generated and not medical advice: it is told to suggest changes only when you ask, and to say that any suggestion should be checked with your clinician. Using it needs Premium; there is no extra charge for the connection.
Is my data sent to the AI company?
Yes, when you use it. Whatever the assistant asks for is sent to that assistant's provider (Anthropic for Claude, Google for Gemini, OpenAI for ChatGPT) at your request, under their terms. You choose that when you click Allow, and you can disconnect at any time from Settings › Data & devices.
Connect Claude
On claude.ai, open Customize, then Connectors, then Add, then Add custom connector, and enter https://breathingroom.io/mcp. Sign in to Breathing Room and click Allow. The connection then works in the Claude apps on your phone and computer too. In the connector's settings, set the reading tools to Always allow and leave Add to journal on Ask, so Claude stops asking before every call. As of October 2026.
Connect Gemini
On gemini.google.com, open Settings, then Connected apps (or Personal Intelligence, then Connected apps), then Add a custom app, and enter https://breathingroom.io/mcp. Sign in to Breathing Room and click Allow. You can only add it on the web; it then works in the Gemini app on your phone too. Google requires a personal account, Keep Activity on, English, and being 18 or over in the US. Gemini has no prompt menu, so for the morning routine just ask it to run your Breathing Room daily review. For a one-tap morning routine, make a Gem whose instruction is to run your Breathing Room daily review. As of October 2026.
Connect ChatGPT
In ChatGPT, open Plugins, select the plus button, then Add custom MCP server, enter https://breathingroom.io/mcp as the server address, and select Create as a plugin. Sign in to Breathing Room and click Allow. Custom MCP servers are not available on every ChatGPT plan, and a workspace administrator may need to allow them. As of October 2026.
Connect Cursor, Claude Code or another tool
Tools that take a configuration file accept the same address. Either add it as a remote server and sign in when prompted, or create an access token on the Security tab and send it as a bearer header. In Claude Code, run: claude mcp add --transport http breathing-room https://breathingroom.io/mcp
Example question to try first: "Please provide an overall analysis of my latest night."
